New Platts website provides comprehensive source of LNG market intelligence and analytical tools

New York, NY - March 9, 2009

Platts, the energy information arm of McGraw-Hill, today announced the launch of LNG TraderNet, an online service designed to provide traders, analysts, and the other members of the LNG community with "one-stop" market intelligence and analytical tools. The new web-based service features a comprehensive range of resources, including price assessments, fundamental market data, decision-support tools, and news from Platts' global editorial team.

"LNG TraderNet stands out because of the breadth of its capabilities," said Chris Sternberg, Platts global director of product development. "It integrates Platts' proprietary data and price information, including its forward curves and Asian spot price assessments, with interactive tools that enable subscribers to gain critical intelligence on possible commodity price movements."

"From its regional modular packaging to its user-customized reports, LNG TraderNet is clearly one of the most flexible systems available to the industry," he added, noting that it was designed with the input of both front- and back-office users and tailored to fit their workflows.

Key features include:

  • Access to Platts' LNG Tracker database which provides detailed information on existing and proposed regasification terminals and liquefaction facilities
  • A calculator that helps gauge opportunities and potential netback pricing up to three years into the future using Platts proprietary forward curves
  • Interactive global map that provides profiles of terminals, facilities and ports and shows tanker movements and their estimated times of arrival
  • Summary data on deliveries of LNG cargoes and actual prices paid
  • Searchable and archived news coverage of the global LNG market

In addition, in the near future, subscribers will be able to access weather-related information that shows how weather conditions are affecting selected shipping routes and LNG cargoes.

Subscriptions are offered on either a global or regional basis (Asia, Americas, or Europe, Middle East & Africa), with pricing based on the number of users. A free two-week trial is available to qualified prospects. For more information, please visit www.LNG.TraderNet.platts.com.
