Platts signs agreement with JYD Commodities Hub to distribute its real-time information service in the Chinese market Beijing - October 21, 2009 In a move that vastly expands the scope of global energy information available in China, Platts, a division of the McGraw-Hill Companies, has signed an agreement to distribute its proprietary Chinese-language oil information service through JYD Commodities Hub, China's leading commodities information and e-trade service. Effective October 21, JYD will offer Platts China Alert on its internet-based platform to mainland Chinese subscribers. Platts China Alert provides real-time breaking news, price assessments and analysis covering the Chinese and global markets. “Our agreement to distribute Platts China Alert through JYD is part of a strategic partnership that leverages Platts' status as the global leader in energy information with JYD's strength as a cutting-edge information and trading platform in the domestic market,“ said Platts president Larry Neal. “By harnessing the power of JYD’s local resources, we can distribute Platts Global Alert with greater speed and reliability, and bring the benefits of critical oil information to a broader range of energy professionals in China, which has become an increasingly influential player in the global energy markets.“ JYD President Huang Haixin echoed Mr. Neal’s enthusiasm for the two companies’ partnership. "I am pleased that JYD can now offer Platts information on our website to the vast Chinese market, which has an eager readership. We have enjoyed close cooperation with Platts for several years, and today's agreement consummates our win-win relationship," he said. Platts China Alert, launched in 2007, is aimed at offering decision-makers in China a holistic understanding of both the domestic and international oil markets. It features key global and domestic price assessments for fuel oil, LPG, gasoil and gasoline; real-time news; refinery maintenance schedule updates, and other market-moving information. Under the agreement, Platts will continue to produce the content for its China Alert and JYD will provide marketing, sales, distribution and customer support services.
